Poke Bowl

Poke is a diced raw fish that can be served as an appetizer or a meal. It is usually made with Ahi Tuna and served over rice or greens. It is delicious. I first discovered it in Crescent Heights where my daughter lives. Soon there after we had a Poke restaurant open up here and then another one in Elk Grove. Now we make it at home. We just buy the Ahi in the meat department at our local market and use whatever ingredients tickle our fancy.
Some popular ingredients to put in your Poke Bowl are:

Mushrooms, pickled jalapeno, cilantro, pineapple, cucumber, avocado, edamame, green onions, fish eggs and Maui Onions are some of the favorites to put into your Poke Bowl.

The sauces vary as well. They are:

Ponzu, Terriyaki, Sriracha, Sesame oil and other mixed options are available for your sauce.

Poke Bowl

In this Poke bowl above, we used Ahi Tuna, Green Onions Romaine Lettuce, Sesame seeds and Shimeji Mushrooms. (To be fair these were the wrong mushrooms to use, they should have been Shitake) We made an Asian sauce and it was very tasty. Basically you can clean out your fridge for this dish as long as you have good tuna and a good sauce.

Here is a recipe you can follow for your own Poke Bowl and Sauce.
