Lake Amador/Easter Camping 2021

This was the second time our group of friends, affectionately nicknamed JD3 have spent Easter camping at Lake Amador, California. The nickname is because 3 of us have names beginning with J and the other 3 with D. There you go, a little back story.

Anyhoo, the pictures I took from this weekend seem to be of nature and DOGS, a couple of my husband, but mainly the Dogs. In fact I didn’t get any pictures of the Husky “Brando” who was also in attendance. Sorry Bud. We always arrive and get busy making our outdoor homes, which includes two tents and one RV. Then it is on to arrival snacks and drinks. This trip I made Bacon Cheddar Ranch Pinwheels, and Jon made home made Hummus with crudites. OK, we like to Glamp more than camp I guess. For dinner we made Ground Chicken with onion mix steaks, asparagus and Emeril LaGasse’s AuGratin Potatoes. For dessert we made a Berry Cobbler which the recipe is in another post on this blog. Here are some of the recipes.

First Night

The next morning we had an exquisite Breakfast Pizza and fresh fruit. Our friend Dean is an accomplished pizza maker and it was made on request from Jason. Thanks for requesting it Jason and Dean thanks for creating it. It was Decadent and Delicious.

We all went for a walk…..6 people……6 dogs……it looked kinda cute. We walked over to the lodge to settle the bill and work off the pizza. Back at the campsite, some of us went into the lake in Kyacks, on paddle boards and we fished. And no we didn’t catch a thing, but we all worked up an appetite for lunch. Lunch was Gourmet Grilled Cheese sandwiches on Homemade Sourdough bread. (Thanks JoAnne) A combination of salamis and cheeses. Divine.

Time to work off lunch. Some went back out on the lake, some took showers and some just read and rested. It was such a beautiful view and we got our favorite sites which are 30 and 31 at Lake Amador. Here are some of those beautiful views and gorgeous dogs.

Sunday morning we had the ever popular and tasty Lox and Bagels. Dee Dee even brought Ham because Jon is not a huge fan of Lox. I love it, especially with Capers, Red Onions and grilled with butter. Yummy. That night for dinner we enjoyed Tapas. Dee Dee made Sausage stuffed Dates wrapped in Bacon and Jason made the Lemon Crema that gets drizzled on top.

They also made Chicken Kabobs. (Thanks Guys) We then played our own version of Name That Tune, 1980’s version. What a fun weekend. They all left on Sunday and we stayed an extra night. Dinner that night for the two of us was left over asparagus and Firecracker Chicken Meatballs in Linguini and Alfredo Sauce.

I hope we get to spend Easter there again next year. Oh, I almost forgot the Easter Alcohol Bunny showed up with a basket of airplane size drinks. Vodka, Rum, Fireball, Crown Royal…….our friends are the best !!
