Camping at Bodega Bay

We have camped at Bodega Bay before with our friends and it is always fun, a little windy and cold but fun. This trip was FUN! We arrived after our friends did and set up our tent. Of course it was now time for arrival snacks and Wine…….my favorite part and I almost always want to be in charge of this event. Well, I forgot to take pictures but I am going to list the recipes just the same.

First off, Catalan Tomato Bread, made with homemade French Country Bread.

Our Homes away from Home plus Thelma and Louise

The next day was absolutely beautiful and Jon and I decided to take a drive up Highway One to see what was there. It was gorgeous and had many rocky cliffs with large Rocks off the shoreline.

They do love to go for a R I D E !

We stopped at a Farmer’s Market on our way back. We didn’t buy anything but Louise made her presence known. We were constantly telling her to be quiet, be still, Stop it Louise …..until a lady at the market said “Is it always Louise?” Why yes it is !

The highlight of the day was of course the company but the company brought 4 dozen Oysters to BBQ. Complete with 3 different sauces. Heaven!

Oh, Yum

So we laughed, talked, drank wine and consumed 4 dozen oysters and didn’t pay much attention to the Sun. We were all in quite a bit of pain later, but so worth it.

The last evening there Jon cooked. He made Garlic Butter Mushroom Stuffed Chicken and Mushroom Risotto. It was delicious.

Mushroom Risotto with Asparagus.

The morning of departure, always a sad morning, Jon made Corned Beef Hash. We bought a brisket and ground it up ourselves at home. I forgot to take a picture of that one too. I promise I will do better next time. Here is the recipe:

And so we say Adieu to Hitckcocks’s Bodega Bay until next year.
