Sobremesa, a memoir of food and love in thirteen courses, was written by Josephine Caminos Oria. This was a Galley Match from Book Club Cookbook. Thank you Judy Gelman. (Judy hit this one out of the park as to matching a book with our club). We all thoroughly loved this book and it solidified our desire (Jon and I ) to go to Argentina, so we booked a trip there for our 30th wedding anniversary. Look out Buenos Aires !!

Pictured above is the authors recommendation for an Argentinian Malbec. She has one sip of this wine and is transported back to Argentina. I had to purchase it for our book club meeting. OK, we sampled it prior just to make sure it was good. Oh, yes it was. Henry Lagarde – Malbec.

The appetizer I made was Provoleta. It is a wheel of Provolone cheese, topped with fresh Oregano and red chili flakes. Melt it in a cast iron skillet and take fresh french bread, previously rubbed with garlic and dip away. I cooked mine out in our back patio area on the grill and we toasted with our newly discovered Malbec. Delicious!

Love our Books ‘n Cooks events! This book was such a treat. A great read, and wonderful new recipes and wine to try out. I especially love when Debbie needs to test out a recipe in advance and we get to be the testers!
