Sicilian Meatloaf

Many years ago we were in Sicily. Sadly just a one day stop on a Mediterranean cruise. Still, we had a great day there. I bought a Sicilian cookbook which I still use from time to time and we had an amazing lunch way back inside the city where the locals eat. Jon, and everyone else, decided on Spaghetti and meatballs and I thought I was ordering Chicken. When the bill arrived there was only the total and nothing else. It wasn’t broken down so I asked how much my dish was. I was the only one who didn’t have Spaghetti. The waiter pointed to the total and said ….. “Meat!” Also on that day I took a pretty bad fall but was not hurt so it ended up being pretty funny……to everyone else anyway. You know those kinds of falls when you stumble, right yourself, then stumble again and then bite the dust? Well, that’s what I did, the “girls” deployed and I kept my right hand up in the air which was holding my new camera. Once we decided I wasn’t dead or didn’t have any broken bones we all laughed because I saved the camera. Here are a few pictures of that day in Sicily.

But I digress……..We found a recipe for Sicilian Meatloaf, gave it a whirl and it was amazing.
